Meet The Team

Luca Swanton
Co-Founder & Director
Hi, I’m Luca, the co-founder of East Tutoring. I graduated from Reddam House in 2023 with an ATAR of 96.35, ranking 12th in the state for English Standard. My HSC Visual Arts work was selected for the 2023 ARTEXPRESS showcase, and I achieved four Band 6 results across my subjects. I’m now studying a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business at UTS.
Over the past two years, I’ve been independently tutoring around twelve students each week in Business Studies, English Standard, Mathematics Standard, and Visual Arts. I’ve also tutored a range of students from Year 6 through to the HSC, helping them strengthen their academic skills and confidence. I’ve had the privilege of working with students from schools such as Reddam House, Moriah College, Emanuel School, and Rose Bay Secondary College.
I started East Tutoring because I saw how many agencies were underpaying talented tutors while charging families high rates. I wanted to create something fairer — a tutoring network where tutors are properly valued and students receive genuine, high-quality support. My goal has always been to help students succeed, especially those who need a bit of extra guidance, and to make learning engaging by explaining concepts in a clear and relatable way.

Toby Solsky
Co-Founder & Director
Hi, I’m Toby, the co-founder and one of the directors of East Tutoring. I graduated from Reddam House in 2023 with an ATAR of 95.75, achieving Band 6 results in Business Studies, Mathematics Advanced, and Mathematics Extension 1. I’m now studying a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Advanced Studies (majoring in Mathematics) at the University of Sydney, where I continue to build the analytical and communication skills that shape my approach to tutoring.
After finishing high school, I began tutoring almost immediately and have since worked with over thirty students across a range of subjects. Through this, I’ve developed a strong passion for helping students gain confidence, understand difficult concepts, and reach their full academic potential. I’ve had the opportunity to work with students from a variety of schools, each with unique goals and learning styles, which has deepened my appreciation for personalised, engaging teaching.
I founded East Tutoring after realising how hard it was for families to find affordable, high-quality tutors, and for tutors to find students without relying on agencies that underpay them and take large commissions. I wanted to build something fairer for both sides: a tutoring network that values its tutors and gives students genuine, high-quality support. My goal is to make learning accessible, motivating, and effective for every student who joins East Tutoring.

Indi Cohen
Hi, I’m Indi. I am a recent 2025 graduate, spending years K-12 at Reddam House and completing my studies with a 95.2 atar. My final year 12 HSC results included a state rank of 16th in English standard, and Band 6s in Legal studies and Ancient history, alongside high ranks in my other respective subjects.
I have an immense passion for teaching humanities subjects. My favourite areas of learning and teaching include strengthening analytical skills, simplifying and perfecting comprehension, and improving literacy and fluidity in essay-writing subjects. Throughout year 12 I mentored friends in the years below, tutoring year 11 Legal studies and assisting my student into ranking first in class. Alongside this, I created a mass amount of comprehensive study resources; notes, planners, mock exams and summaries that I am excited to share and provide to students. Overall, I am thrilled to be able to pass on my tips and tricks for humanities areas in school. I am currently at the University of Sydney studying a Bachelor of PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics), Majoring in philosophy, and I hope to become an academic in the future!
