Our mission
East Tutoring was started by experienced tutors Toby Solsky and Luca Swanton. As tutors ourselves, we noticed a real gap in the industry: there's huge demand for quality tutors in the Eastern Suburbs, yet many great tutors struggle to find students, while many agencies underpay their tutors and lock them into restrictive contracts. We wanted to create something better: an agency that provides high-quality education for students without taking advantage of tutors. What we teach
Our tutors cover subjects from Year 6 all the way up to and including the HSC. Each tutor teaches only the subjects they genuinely excelled in.
Mathematics
Standard, Advanced, and Extension 1 & 2. From core foundations to exam technique.

Standard, Advanced and Extension, with real feedback on essay writing, analysis and comprehension.
Sciences
Biology, Chemistry and Physics, including a tutor who ranked 1st in the state for Biology.

Modern & Ancient History, Legal Studies, and Studies of Religion across all HSC modules.

Business Studies and Economics, taught by tutors with state-medal results in both.

How much does tutoring cost?
Sessions are $100 per hour for Years 11 and 12 (HSC sessions) and $90 per hour for all other years. There are no enrolment fees and no lock-in contracts.
How do you match my child with a tutor?
We hand-pick a tutor based on the subject, year level and your child's personality. Every tutor achieved a minimum HSC mark of 92 in the subject they teach and has completed our tutoring curriculum. If the fit isn't right, we'll rematch you at no cost.
Where do sessions happen?
Wherever suits your family: at your home, at a local library or another public place, or online over video with a shared screen and digital whiteboard. You can mix and match week to week.
What if we need to cancel or reschedule a session?
Life happens. Just let us know through your WhatsApp group chat and we'll rearrange the session. We ask for at least 4 hours notice, and the more notice the better, so tutors can plan their day.
Are your tutors safe to work with children?
Yes. All tutors hold a valid NSW Working With Children Check, and a parent or guardian coordinator is always part of the WhatsApp group chat for every student.
How do we stay across our child's progress?
Every student has a WhatsApp group chat with their coordinator (Toby or Luca), their tutor and you. Scheduling, questions and progress updates all live in one place.
